Changing the Weighing Mode

WHAT IS A WEIGHING MODE?

A weighing mode refers to the type of measurement unit displayed by a digital scale while being used to weigh items. For example, if your scale is in ounce weighing mode, then the item’s weight will be displayed in ounces.

Most digital scales provide measurements in several different weighing modes, with the most common measurement units in digital scales are grams, ounces, pounds, kilograms.  Measurement units provide a standardized and distinctive method for comparing weights of items, but also for converting between measurement units (i.e. ounces to kilograms).

CHANGING THE MEASUREMENT UNIT

For most digital scales, the instructions for changing the weighing mode are as follows:

1)  Power on the scale
2)  Press the [UNIT] or [MODE] key to change weighing mode
3)  Cycle through units by pressing the [UNIT] or [MODE] key until you find the correct weighing mode
4)  Weigh items as usual
